Curio Trinket Dishes
Join us for an evening playing with clay! In this curio trinket dish class, you'll have the chance to sculpt a precious, one of a kind trinket dish from premium air dry clay before adorning it with trinkets, beads, mosaic pieces and other curated treasures.
Perfect for beginners or clay fiends alike, we’ll get you acclimated to the material and tools, and provide you with an inspo + ideation session to get your creativity whirring. We'll then bump the tunes and let you sculpt your hearts out amongst new friends. It will be a perfect, tactile evening.
Feel free to bring your own treasures, charms or trinkets to incorporate<3
Objects will dry in 24hrs, you'll receive a take home varnish + brush to seal your piece. Please note that air dry clay is not food safe or water tight!

Meet your Host:
Vyanka Sotelo is based in Brooklyn, where she loves long dinners, crowded dance floors, making things with her hands, and a particularly good Collage Club. She is a community builder and the Director of Operations at Good Move, a dance and somatic movement studio. She is happiest creating spaces where people can move, play, and spend time together.
What can I expect from a project at RecCreate?
Projects are the perfect chance to finally make that thing you saved on tiktok or pinned months ago, where all you have to do is show up! We curate the coolest materials and walk you through it step by step. Naturally, you leave with the sickest me-made piece for yourself or as the sweetest gift. Projects are a great opportunity to try out a new craft without having to invest in all of the materials, alongside other creative humans. These are not highly technical workshops— our emphasis is on craft, self expression and creative empowerment.
As with all RecCreate events, you can expect to go on this journey with a room full of lovely strangers. We’ll offer opportunities for connection throughout our time— encouraging the spirit of the collective. It is (so) much more fun to get to create together.
Getting Here
The venue is a ~hidden~ art studio located at 20 Grand ave in brooklyn on the 6th floor of a commercial building! When you arrive, buzz #604, push to open and take the elevator up to 6 (push the elevator button until it turns red.!!) Take a right out of the elevator, and a left at the end of the hallway. The door will be the first one on your right.
Cancelation Policy
Unfortunately for this event tickets are non-refundable/exchange-able! Please double check your calendar. In the event you are no longer able to make it, you are welcome to give your ticket to a friend or swap it on our ticket swap board. Just tell them to use your name!
Please note! All events have a minimum capacity required to run in order to provide the best experience possible <3 Though it’s rare, on the off chance that this minimum is not met, we’ll reach out 48hrs prior about a reschedule or refund.
