When AI performs the R&D, can you still claim SR&ED tax credits?
When artificial intelligence tools such as Claude Code, OpenAI’s Codex, Google Antigravity, and other large language models (LLMs) perform much of the programming work, can companies still claim SRED tax credits for the salaries of software developers who now supervise AI coding? The answer is not obvious and getting it wrong can mean leaving significant money on the table or facing unnecessary audit risk with the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA).
Our guests, Komi Sodoké, PhD in AI and Technology Director, and Pierre Savignac, CEO and Founder, both from Emergex SRED Consultants, will share their practical experience on how companies can navigate this new reality.
After a 15-minute refresher on how SR&ED works, this free workshop will explain how to justify and maximize SR&ED tax credits while minimizing audit risks by the CRA, followed with a Q&A period. Participants leave with a clearer picture of their eligibility, practical guidance on how to document AI-assisted R&D work, and confidence in how to approach their next SR&ED claim.
Who should attend?
CEO, CFO and CTO of software companies with at least two salaried developers will find the greatest benefits.
This session is part of the Global Startups 10th Anniversary Masterclass Series. As part of our week-long celebration, we invited select members of our community to share their expertise with a live audience. Emergex is one of those members, and this is their opportunity to open the door to a direct conversation with the software company leaders navigating R&D tax credits in the age of AI.
