โSponsorship Works Both Ways: Getting Seen, Opening Doors
โAn Intercity x Elevate Women in Tech x WITBham event for WeAreTechWomen - Women in Tech Week
โ๐ Wednesday 14 October | ๐ง 12:30โ2:30pm | ๐ Intercity Offices
โIntercity, in partnership with Elevate WiT and WITBham are proud to be taking part in Women in Tech Week (12โ16 October 2026), the UK's national week of events, run by WeAreTechWomen, celebrating and championing the progression of women in tech.
โMentorship gets talked about all the time. But sponsorship, the thing that actually gets people into rooms and onto shortlists, is still the missing piece for a lot of women in tech. This session digs into why that gap exists, who it hits hardest, and how to close it, whether you're the one being sponsored or the one doing the sponsoring.
โWhat to expect:
โTalk: "Not All Support Is Equal: Know the Difference, Know Your Role" โ the difference between mentorship, allyship and sponsorship, and why the sponsorship gap hits women hardest
โPanel: "The Moment Someone Sponsored Me" โ hosted by Jo Santos, with panellists
โCharlie Blakemore - CEO - Intercity
โClaire Daniel-Lepore - CEO - Edgbaston Priory Club
โTBC
โMasterclass: "How to Be Sponsor-Ready" โ five practical moves: set a goal and say it out loud, make your work visible, build a personal board, make the ask specific, close the loop
โThe Pledge โ leave with one concrete commitment
โOptional: a data centre tour is available following the session, please indicate on the sign-up form if you'd like to join.
