About Event

Join us for an evening with the engineering team at TryHackMe, focused on how we build, experiment, and scale technology in practice.

This event will feature a lightning talk followed by 2 short tech talks across engineering, development practices, and AI, followed by a live panel and open Q&A.

Lightning Talk:
Rob Sugars - Head of Engineering

Talk 1:
I Asked the Agent. The Agent Asked Me.
Coding agents have flipped the bottleneck. Generation is cheap; specifying what we want is the hard part. A look at Spec-Driven Development, the hype, the backlash, and the workflow we’re testing.
Speakers:
Elena Calvo Carazo - Software Engineer
Mina Malaj - Software Engineer

Talk 2:
Don’t Fear the Bot .. It’s Just Following Your Instructions
AI can feel intimidating, until you realise it’s just following instructions .. your instructions. We’ll explore how to build agents, work with automations, and navigate the tooling landscape, with a focus on getting started.
Speaker: Sam De Maeyer - Software Engineering Manager

After the talks, we’ll host a moderated panel with engineers, followed by an open Q&A with the audience.

While TryHackMe is known for cybersecurity training, this evening focuses on the broader engineering work behind the platform.

Food and drinks will be provided.

Location
Plexal East Bay Lane, The Press Centre, Here East, Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, London, E15 2GW.
