Join the Cursor Community for a high-impact hackathon focused on accelerating your journey into the world of Open Source. Whether you're a complete beginner looking to make your first Pull Request (PR) or a seasoned developer aiming to solve complex issues, this event is your platform.
What You Will Learn & Do
Our goal is for every participant to leave the event with a tangible contribution to an Open Source project and the confidence to continue contributing.
Open Source 101: Get a practical introduction to the Open Source ecosystem, licenses, and best practices.
The Git & GitHub Workflow: Learn the essentials: forking repositories, cloning, creating branches, committing changes, and submitting a high-quality Pull Request.
AI-Assisted Coding: Hands-on experience using Cursor to understand and contribute to unfamiliar codebases faster. (You will receive free cursor credits).
Guided Contributions: Work on pre-vetted projects with beginner-friendly tasks (e.g., bug fixes, documentation updates, small features).
Networking: Connect with fellow developers, mentors, and members of the local Cursor Community.

Students & Beginners: You have foundational coding skills but have never contributed to Open Source before. This is your chance to start!
