We start with common structured SQL search over relational databases, then move up the stack live: full-text and keyword search, natural-language-to-SQL with GenAI, semantic search over embeddings, and hybrid search that fuses keyword precision with semantic recall. Along the way we show the storage and retrieval options that make it real, from database SQL engines to Amazon S3 Vectors and Amazon OpenSearch vector search, and when to use each other.
