To compete or to be left behind? Where does Europe stand?
In order to stay up to date with AI safety issues and frontier research, it is important to read the most up to date papers and share and discuss what we learned. We find this to be a valuable way to increase our knowledge and understanding of the topics. We will be meeting to dicuss a frontier research paper and share our ideas about it. Some light refreshments will be served. This event is free to attend.

Forget the race to build frontier AI: most countries were never in it. Leicht and Ball argue the contest still open is adoption, meaning who can best weave frontier AI into their governments and economies. Middle powers, nations with strong institutions and industry but no frontier labs, have the most to win or lose. Their homework is to lock in durable access to imported AI, rebuild the public sector to leapfrog, seize a valuable chokepoint in the global AI economy, and support citizens as income shifts to capital and abroad. Hesitate, and state legitimacy erodes. Move boldly, and you shape the transformation.
