Quantum Café Berlin
Building the quantum internet, photonics, and the nuances of tech transfer from a lab to an industrial application will be the main topics discussed at this iteration of the Quantum Café.
Quantum Café is usually a scientific discussion among friends and colleagues, this time we will both discuss science behind building the quantum internet, and offer a peek into the various existing quantum computation platforms by Dr. Jana Lehner.
Scientists:
Jannes Stubbemann
(CEO of Aqora)
Jannes is a scientist and entrepreneur with roots in machine learning and quantum computing, a track record spanning research, infrastructure, and company building, and a knack for turning quantum potential into practical progress. From simulating Google's 2019 quantum supremacy experiment to scaling large infrastructure at Binance and leading PushQuantum, he now builds Aqora, the central hub where thousands of quantum professionals collaborate through competitions, datasets, and benchmarks that accelerate the field from theory to impact.
Dr. Daniel Vajner
(AQLS.EU, Technische Universität Berlin)
Daniel is a scientist with roots in quantum optics, a track record spanning academia, industry, and startups, and a knack for tackling complex problems from first principles. From growing a lab from scratch during his PhD to standardizing anomaly detection at Infineon and leading research at Everest Carbon, he now builds the hardware layer for the future quantum internet at AQLS.
Dr. Jana Lehner
(Science2Business, Quantum Brilliance, Bitkom)
Jana is a scientists and key figure in the Berlin deep tech community, an enthusiast of translating science to business, and a coach and mentor for deep tech founders taking the leap from scientific discipline to ventures. With her background in quantum physics she covers a large range of topics including quantum computation with her 20+ years experience in industry both on the business and the quantum side.
Founder/Host:
Dr. Ingmari Tietje
(Quantum Café Co-founder, Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, Technische Universität Berlin, CERN)
Ingmari is an experimental physicist focused on a range of topics, from atomic clocks and quantum sensing during her postdoctoral work at HU Berlin, to characterising non-neutral antiproton-electron plasmas in the AEgIS collaboration during her doctoral studies at CERN. She founded the first version of Quantum Café as a graduate student together with two friends.
