Workshop: Practical Lessons, Shared Challenges, & the Future of Circular Economy Reporting
Scotland’s Circular Economy and Community Wealth Building agendas are creating new opportunities for community organizations, social enterprises, and local businesses. At the same time, many organizations are being asked to demonstrate impact, report outcomes, and evidence the value they create often with limited time, capacity, and resources.
This interactive workshop brings together organizations from across Scotland to share practical experiences, learn from peers, and explore how the value communities create can be better recognized, supported, and communicated.
Together we’ll explore:
how organizations are currently approaching impact measurement, reporting, and funding requirements
what kinds of contributions remain difficult to evidence or communicate
practical approaches and workarounds that others have found useful
what kinds of value communities would like future reporting and support systems to recognize, support, or leave alone
how emerging Circular Economy and Community Wealth Building priorities may create new opportunities and challenges
Whether you’re applying for funding, reporting impact, building partnerships, or simply curious about how others are approaching these questions, this workshop is designed as a practical peer-learning session.
Who is this for?
Community organizations, local businesses, social enterprises, circular economy initiatives, cooperatives, and others interested in demonstrating impact, securing funding, strengthening partnerships, or understanding emerging policy opportunities.
Participants will leave with:
practical ideas and examples from organizations across Scotland
new peer connections and opportunities for collaboration
a better understanding of the opportunities and challenges emerging from the Circular Economy and Community Wealth Building agendas
a summary of key lessons, challenges, and opportunities identified during the workshop
About the project
This workshop forms part of a collaboration between CommunityCred and the Edinburgh Futures Institute exploring community-led approaches to understanding, recognizing, and communicating value.
Insights from the session will contribute to Carolina Ossa’s MSc research at the University of Edinburgh and will help inform recommendations on how future reporting, support, and data-sharing approaches can better align with the realities of local organizations. A summary of findings will be shared with participants following the project.
