SF Ruby 2025 Golden Gate Bridge Bike Tour + Alcatraz Ferry Ride
Welcome SF Rubyists!
What:
We'll be signing up as a group for the 10am Guided Tour with Blazing Saddles.
The tour departs a few blocks from the conference event center, rides across the Golden Gate Bridge and up to Sausalito. Then, there is a 30-minute ferry ride back to San Francisco which goes right past Alcatraz. The ferry ride drops you off at SF Pier 41 right near Fisherman's Wharf, so it's an easy stop for lunch destinations.
Time & Distance:
Total distance is about 8 miles riding, and time is listed at 2.5 to 3 hours. I think that includes the ferry time.
They ask you to arrive at least 15 minutes early, so arrival time around 9:30-9:45 in case it's a big group.
You are allowed to keep the bike for 24 hours! You are also allowed to ride the bike back if you want to skip the ferry ride or cost.
Cost:
You can choose a regular bike or an electric bike. There is a separate fee for the ferry ride back ($14.75).
All together, the cost for the tour and ferry is $94.71 for regular bike, and $116.55 for electric bike if you decline the insurance stuff.
How to Register:
Sign up for this Luma event if you want to get email updates from the organizer, Kane.

Itinerary
Blazing Saddles' Golden Gate Bridge bike tour begins at the picturesque Aquatic Park in Fisherman’s Wharf.

You’ll cross the bridge on the sidewalk with stunning views of the city and bay, followed by a 10 minute downhill ride taking you right into the town of Sausalito.
Along the way, our knowledgeable and fun local guides will share entertaining and educational information with you, including the history behind the Golden Gate Bridge.
You can continue riding from Sausalito after the guided tour is over — the bike is yours for a full 24 hours. Our staff can recommend some great cycling routes! Or you can take advantage of our complimentary bike drop-off service in Sausalito. Book your tour with ferry tickets and just return them to us if you don't use them.
