About Event

โ€‹Have you ever thought your ideas could be real by the end of tonight? ๐ŸŒ™

โ€‹You've had it for months. You've explained it to friends. You know exactly how it should work. And it's still just something you say out loud.

โ€‹That's not on you. Building it used to mean finding a developer, paying ten thousand dollars, and waiting three months for something that wasn't quite what you meant.

โ€‹That changed. You can describe an app in plain English now and AI writes the code. That's vibe coding.

โ€‹So the gap between your idea and a working app is about FOUR hours. โšก

โ€‹Build Night MTL is those four hours.

โ€‹๐Ÿ“ฆ WHAT YOU LEAVE WITH

โ€‹A working app. Live, on your phone, doing something you actually need. Not a mockup. Not a plan to build one later.

โ€‹And you'll know how to do it again on your own on Sunday morning.

โ€‹๐Ÿ›Ÿ HOW WE MAKE SURE YOU FINISH

โ€‹Most people who try this alone quit in the first twenty minutes.

โ€‹That's when the AI builds the wrong thing and you don't know how to ask again.

โ€‹We built the whole night around that moment.

โ€‹You watch Aisha build an app live on stage first, start to finish, ten minutes. Then you get a starter prompts and guidelines, so you're never staring at a blank screen.

โ€‹Helpers walk the room, one for every thirty people.

โ€‹Turn up with no idea and we'll hand you one that works.

โ€‹๐Ÿ™Œ YOU DON'T NEED ANYTHING TO COME

  • โ€‹No idea? We'll give you one.

  • โ€‹Never written a line of code? Good. That's who the night is built for.

  • โ€‹Don't know where to start? You watch the whole thing done on stage before you touch your keyboard.

  • โ€‹Stuck at any point? Put your hand up. Helpers are walking the room all night.

โ€‹Bring a laptop. We'll handle the rest. ๐Ÿ’ป

โ€‹๐ŸŽค THE DEMOS

โ€‹At 9:30 five people go up on their own, one at a time, and show what they made on the big screen. One minute each. That's it.

โ€‹You don't have to be one of them. But watching someone who walked in three hours earlier saying "I'm not technical" stand up and show a thing that works is the best part of the night. Every time.

โ€‹Spots get picked in the room, not in advance.

โ€‹๐Ÿ’ธ WHAT IT COSTS

โ€‹Nothing. It's FREE, and we feed you. ๐Ÿ•

โ€‹You bring a laptop, four hours, and one idea small enough to build in an evening.

โ€‹Think of one thing in your week that eats time and shouldn't. Keeping track of what's due and when.

โ€‹Working out who owes who money after every group dinner.

โ€‹That's your build.

โ€‹No coding. No tech or IT background. (Seriously, that's the whole point of the night.)

โ€‹๐ŸŽ WHAT ELSE YOU GET

โ€‹The app is the start of it.

โ€‹Once yours works, we'll show you how to build everything around it the same way:

  • โ€‹A name

  • โ€‹A logo

  • โ€‹A landing page that explains what the thing does

  • โ€‹The email that goes out when someone signs up

โ€‹All of it in the same evening, all of it in plain English.

โ€‹Every tool we use is free to use. You won't be asked for a card to build anything, and nothing you make tonight stops working when you go home.

โ€‹๐Ÿ•– AGENDA

โ€‹7:00 to 7:30 Doors, food, laptops open

โ€‹7:30 to 8:00 Live build on stage. One working app in ten minutes

โ€‹8:00 to 9:30Y ou build. Helpers float the room

โ€‹9:30 to 9:50 The demos. Five builds, one minute each

โ€‹9:50 to 11:00Open networking (best time to find your co-founder)

โ€‹๐Ÿ‘ฅ WHO THIS IS FOR

  • โ€‹๐ŸŽ“ University students. This night is built for you first.

  • โ€‹๐Ÿค– Anyone who keeps hearing about AI and would rather be early to it than spend next year catching up.

  • โ€‹๐Ÿ’ก Anyone sitting on an idea they can't build. It doesn't have to be a business. It can just be a thing you want to exist.

  • โ€‹โš™๏ธ Anyone whose job has a boring part in it. Build the thing that does that part for you.

  • โ€‹๐Ÿค๐Ÿป Founders, managers, and anyone who just wants to be around people building things. Whatever you do for a living, the last hour of the night is the whole room talking to each other.

  • โ€‹๐Ÿง‘โ€๐Ÿ’ป Developers & Engineers who want to come help and meet people.

โ€‹๐Ÿ‘‹ WHO'S TEACHING

โ€‹Next Wave x Prompts2Products

โ€‹AISHA YASEEN, founder of AREHSOFT and Prompts2Products.

โ€‹Aisha's been writing production code for seven years. Self taught, started building software at 15, running a team of 15 by 19.

โ€‹At AREHSOFT she builds custom software and AI automation for businesses. She also goes into companies and trains their teams to actually use the AI they're already paying for.

โ€‹Prompts2Products is where she teaches people with no tech background to build.

โ€‹She'll also tell you when AI is the wrong answer. That's the part most people leave out.

โ€‹LUCA ARSENAULT, co-founder of Next Wave.

โ€‹Luca builds the rooms Montreal's tech scene actually turns up to.

โ€‹Next Wave started because he and two others kept asking the same question, where's the room where this city's builders meet each other. They couldn't find it. So they built it.

โ€‹His real skill is getting people past the fear of walking into a room full of strangers. He's the reason someone who came alone leaves with five people they're still talking to next week.

โ€‹โœ… BEFORE YOU COME

  • โ€‹Bring a laptop, charged. Not a tablet. A power bank if you've got one.

  • โ€‹Forgot it, or don't have one? Come anyway. Tell us at the door and we'll sit you with someone who did. You'll still build something tonight.

  • โ€‹Do the setup list. We'll email you a five minute one three days before. Do it at home on your own wifi, not in the room. This matters more than it sounds.

  • โ€‹Come with a small idea. Or come with nothing and take one of ours.

โ€‹๐Ÿ“ WHERE

โ€‹Downtown Montreal, five minutes from Berri-UQAM metro.

โ€‹The exact address lands in your inbox the moment you register, and again the day before so you're not digging for it on the night.

โ€‹๐Ÿš‡ HOW TO GET THERE

โ€‹Metro, easiest by far. Berri-UQAM. Green, orange and yellow all stop there, so you can get here from most of the city without changing once. It's a five minute walk from the station and we'll send you the door by door bit when you register.

โ€‹Bike. There are Bixi docks all around Berri-UQAM.

โ€‹Car. There's paid parking at the venue, but it's 20 spots and that's it. First come. Street parking around there on a Friday night is a fight you'll lose, so if you're driving, come early. The metro is honestly faster.

โ€‹We finish at 11, so you'll have no trouble getting home.

โ€‹Registration closes when we hit capacity, and the waitlist moves fast.

โ€‹If you register and then can't make it, please unregister so someone else gets your seat. ๐Ÿ™
