Build Night MTL: Vibe Coding Night in Montreal
โHave you ever thought your ideas could be real by the end of tonight? ๐
โYou've had it for months. You've explained it to friends. You know exactly how it should work. And it's still just something you say out loud.
โThat's not on you. Building it used to mean finding a developer, paying ten thousand dollars, and waiting three months for something that wasn't quite what you meant.
โThat changed. You can describe an app in plain English now and AI writes the code. That's vibe coding.
โSo the gap between your idea and a working app is about FOUR hours. โก
โBuild Night MTL is those four hours.
โ๐ฆ WHAT YOU LEAVE WITH
โA working app. Live, on your phone, doing something you actually need. Not a mockup. Not a plan to build one later.
โAnd you'll know how to do it again on your own on Sunday morning.
โ๐ HOW WE MAKE SURE YOU FINISH
โMost people who try this alone quit in the first twenty minutes.
โThat's when the AI builds the wrong thing and you don't know how to ask again.
โWe built the whole night around that moment.
โYou watch Aisha build an app live on stage first, start to finish, ten minutes. Then you get a starter prompts and guidelines, so you're never staring at a blank screen.
โHelpers walk the room, one for every thirty people.
โTurn up with no idea and we'll hand you one that works.
โ๐ YOU DON'T NEED ANYTHING TO COME
โNo idea? We'll give you one.
โNever written a line of code? Good. That's who the night is built for.
โDon't know where to start? You watch the whole thing done on stage before you touch your keyboard.
โStuck at any point? Put your hand up. Helpers are walking the room all night.
โBring a laptop. We'll handle the rest. ๐ป
โ๐ค THE DEMOS
โAt 9:30 five people go up on their own, one at a time, and show what they made on the big screen. One minute each. That's it.
โYou don't have to be one of them. But watching someone who walked in three hours earlier saying "I'm not technical" stand up and show a thing that works is the best part of the night. Every time.
โSpots get picked in the room, not in advance.
โ๐ธ WHAT IT COSTS
โNothing. It's FREE, and we feed you. ๐
โYou bring a laptop, four hours, and one idea small enough to build in an evening.
โThink of one thing in your week that eats time and shouldn't. Keeping track of what's due and when.
โWorking out who owes who money after every group dinner.
โThat's your build.
โNo coding. No tech or IT background. (Seriously, that's the whole point of the night.)
โ๐ WHAT ELSE YOU GET
โThe app is the start of it.
โOnce yours works, we'll show you how to build everything around it the same way:
โA name
โA logo
โA landing page that explains what the thing does
โThe email that goes out when someone signs up
โAll of it in the same evening, all of it in plain English.
โEvery tool we use is free to use. You won't be asked for a card to build anything, and nothing you make tonight stops working when you go home.
โ๐ AGENDA
โ7:00 to 7:30 Doors, food, laptops open
โ7:30 to 8:00 Live build on stage. One working app in ten minutes
โ8:00 to 9:30Y ou build. Helpers float the room
โ9:30 to 9:50 The demos. Five builds, one minute each
โ9:50 to 11:00Open networking (best time to find your co-founder)
โ๐ฅ WHO THIS IS FOR
โ๐ University students. This night is built for you first.
โ๐ค Anyone who keeps hearing about AI and would rather be early to it than spend next year catching up.
โ๐ก Anyone sitting on an idea they can't build. It doesn't have to be a business. It can just be a thing you want to exist.
โโ๏ธ Anyone whose job has a boring part in it. Build the thing that does that part for you.
โ๐ค๐ป Founders, managers, and anyone who just wants to be around people building things. Whatever you do for a living, the last hour of the night is the whole room talking to each other.
โ๐งโ๐ป Developers & Engineers who want to come help and meet people.
โ๐ WHO'S TEACHING
โNext Wave x Prompts2Products
โAISHA YASEEN, founder of AREHSOFT and Prompts2Products.
โAisha's been writing production code for seven years. Self taught, started building software at 15, running a team of 15 by 19.
โAt AREHSOFT she builds custom software and AI automation for businesses. She also goes into companies and trains their teams to actually use the AI they're already paying for.
โPrompts2Products is where she teaches people with no tech background to build.
โShe'll also tell you when AI is the wrong answer. That's the part most people leave out.
โLUCA ARSENAULT, co-founder of Next Wave.
โLuca builds the rooms Montreal's tech scene actually turns up to.
โNext Wave started because he and two others kept asking the same question, where's the room where this city's builders meet each other. They couldn't find it. So they built it.
โHis real skill is getting people past the fear of walking into a room full of strangers. He's the reason someone who came alone leaves with five people they're still talking to next week.
โโ BEFORE YOU COME
โBring a laptop, charged. Not a tablet. A power bank if you've got one.
โForgot it, or don't have one? Come anyway. Tell us at the door and we'll sit you with someone who did. You'll still build something tonight.
โDo the setup list. We'll email you a five minute one three days before. Do it at home on your own wifi, not in the room. This matters more than it sounds.
โCome with a small idea. Or come with nothing and take one of ours.
โ๐ WHERE
โDowntown Montreal, five minutes from Berri-UQAM metro.
โThe exact address lands in your inbox the moment you register, and again the day before so you're not digging for it on the night.
โ๐ HOW TO GET THERE
โMetro, easiest by far. Berri-UQAM. Green, orange and yellow all stop there, so you can get here from most of the city without changing once. It's a five minute walk from the station and we'll send you the door by door bit when you register.
โBike. There are Bixi docks all around Berri-UQAM.
โCar. There's paid parking at the venue, but it's 20 spots and that's it. First come. Street parking around there on a Friday night is a fight you'll lose, so if you're driving, come early. The metro is honestly faster.
โWe finish at 11, so you'll have no trouble getting home.
โRegistration closes when we hit capacity, and the waitlist moves fast.
โIf you register and then can't make it, please unregister so someone else gets your seat. ๐
