About Event

If you missed the opening of my show at the artist residency I am doing this past weekend, I’m hosting a private viewing this Thursday, 5-8 PM, to experience Toward a Sentence at NARS, both the main gallery exhibition and my studio.

In the gallery, I’m showing a new work called Vers/Looking: a suspended sculptural form with an inverted pink triangle that you actually look through. When you peer inside, your reflection merges with the piece itself. Face meeting form, viewer becoming viewed. It’s strange, intimate, and plays with that disorienting moment when you see yourself but don’t quite recognize what you’re looking at.

My studio will be open too, where you can see earlier bodies of work and get into the process behind this new piece. Sketches, experiments, the whole messy evolution of how it came together.

Toward a Sentence brings together 13 residents in what curator Thea Nguyen imagines as a collective crossword puzzle. Each artist choosing a word, a position, a direction. Meanings emerge where practices intersect and collide.

The show runs through June 16, but Thursday’s your chance for an intimate look at both the gallery and studio spaces, ask questions, and hang out. It’s a small window before everything closes up, so if you’re curious, come through.

See you there.
