This icebreaker event is meant to bring the community together for a chill afternoon to hang out, learn and talk about Web3 and Polkadot.
We'll cover intro to Polkadot and its current roadmap, highlight Polkadot in Africa as well as hear from Polkadot builders in Africa.
This will be a fun and educative experience for all our attendees, get Polkadot Alpha and learn about the opportunities in the ecosystem, and you will have the chance to meet and network with contributors and builders, share ideas and initiate collaborations.

Bekka is a proud alumna of the Polkadot Blockchain Academy, she began her community-building journey in 2022 as a key contributor to the Rust Nigeria newsletter. She later launched the Rust Nigeria Classroom—a beginner-friendly initiative for aspiring Rust developers—and founded the Rust Nigeria Meetup, now thriving with over 300 members. Her impactful work with the Classroom earned recognition from the Rust Foundation, leading to funding for two Rust events in Nigeria. Currently, she serves as the Lead contributor at Polkadot Africa championing its growth and adoption across Africa.

Lynette Mwangi holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the University of Nairobi. She’s a blockchain smart contract developer with 2 years of experience and proficient in RUST, currently exploring programmable cryptography and Polkadot.
