Victoria Tech Week 2026
ABOUT:
Victoria Tech Week runs September 21-25, 2026, with multiple events daily across Greater Victoria. Inspired by successful models from Boulder Startup Week, Seattle Tech Week and NY Tech Week, this event adopts a decentralized format that turns Victoria into a city-wide innovation showcase, with dozens of events hosted by local companies in their own venues across the capital region*.
Unlike traditional single-venue conferences, Victoria Tech Week empowers local businesses to open their doors and welcome attendees inside, offering an authentic behind-the-scenes look at Victoria's thriving tech ecosystem. From startup workshops in James Bay to AI panels in downtown office towers and networking sessions in Saanich tech hubs, participants will experience the full breadth of Vancouver Island’s innovation landscape.
HOSTING:
Consider yourself invited to submit your own tech events! You can host a mixer at a cafe, an open-house at your office, put on a workshop or show-off your latest products and innovations! This is our chance to create more connections and spread the word about all the interesting things happening in our region. Keep it simple or be creative and let us know if you need help finding the right venue.
In order to be approved, your event must:
Have a topic around tech OR you're a tech company hosting a networking event, or open house
Be located in Greater Victoria, or be hosted virtually by a Greater Victoria company
Be hosted by a local tech company, or, a service company offering tech education (no sales pitches!)
Have free or a minimal charge to cover expenses
Display the provided Victoria Tech Week signage on your screens
Be organized by you (covering registration, speakers if applicable, and any costs - Note: Fort Tectoria is available as a venue to VIATEC members on a first come, first serve basis)
Have your venue already secured before posting your event to the public calendar.

HOSTING TIPS:
Locations: The best events happen in boardrooms, cafes, and shared workspaces. Anywhere, in fact, where you can gather 30-40 people, serve them food and drinks (if it’s a breakfast, lunch or happy hour event), and make them feel at home.
Topics: The best events don’t have titles like “Update on Venture for 2026”. They offer a bit of a challenge, and niche thinking. For example, “How AI Has Replaced Venture Funding with Credit Cards”. And at the end of the day, this is about meeting people - don’t worry if your topic isn’t as edgy as others. People will come.
Big or small? That’s the beauty. You can limit attendance. Our system enables you to give preference to founders and funders, or limit attendance so that your boardroom isn’t overrun.
Whether you want to host a single breakfast panel or claim an entire day, we'll break down exactly how to pick your theme, find your speakers, and create that 'can't-miss' atmosphere where deals get made and relationships begin. No corporate event planning experience required – just curiosity and the willingness to bring your community together.
