About Event

What does meaningful recovery from schizophrenia actually look like and what does the latest science say is possible?

Too many families are told to lower their expectations after a loved one's diagnosis. Doro Mind and Dr. Deanna L. Kelly are here to challenge that.

Join us for a live conversation with one of the world's leading researchers in schizophrenia care. Dr. Kelly is a Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Maryland School of Medicine, Director of the Maryland Psychiatric Research Center, and has spent over 28 years studying breakthrough treatments for people with severe mental illness (SMI), including those who haven't responded to traditional approaches.

We'll cover:

  • What clozapine is and who it's designed to help

  • Why it works when other medications haven't

  • What the barriers to access are and how to navigate these

  • How to advocate for evidence-based care for your loved one

The event will close with a live Q&A, so bring your questions.

Who should attend: Families and caregivers of those living with schizophrenia or serious mental illness who want to understand what's possible beyond a basic diagnosis.
