

Exploring the integration of Yoga and Longevity Science (4-session Course)
Syllabus:
Part-1: Yoga and the mind (two classes)
April 23rd (8:00-9:30am) & 25th (10:00-11:30am)
This first part introduces an integrated approach to health and healing informed by yoga philosophy and longevity science. It examines the relationship between the Five Points of Yoga for total health—proper exercise, breathing, relaxation, diet, positive thinking, and meditation—and the four molecular-level aging patterns (metabolic, immune, nephrotic, and hepatic), thereby establishing a practical framework for healthspan.
Part-2: Ayurveda, total health and longevity (two classes)
April 30th (8:00-9:30am) & May 2nd (10:00-11:30am)
This second part examines anatomy and physiology alongside Ayurveda and healing. It explores disease processes in relation to the body’s systems and functions, providing an understanding of common ailments and pathologies. Participants are introduced to hands-on yoga therapies designed to address specific physical conditions, as well as core Ayurvedic principles that illuminate the underlying causes of disease. The section concludes with a review of relevant scientific research, evidence-based strategies, and lifestyle practices that support longevity, holistic healing, and total health.
Instructor
Dr Pavan Manocha E-RYT 500, is a scholar on the science of yoga for longevity, holistic healing, and total health.
Dr. Manocha is an Associate Editor of the Journal of Quantum Science of Consciousness, a Hatha yoga instructor at the Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Center in San Francisco, and a graduate of the Sivananda Ashram Yoga Farm’s Advanced Teachers Training Course in Grass Valley, California.
He is a venture investor and limited partner at R42 Group where he serves on the ethics and scientific advisory boards. His investing and research interests are in applied longevity, which explores the integration of AI, sustainable development and yoga philosophy. He lectures and publishes widely on yoga philosophy and psychology, Ayurveda and healing, examining how the therapeutic use of postures (asanas), breathwork (pranayama), and meditation can promote longevity.
