CIP hosts: How AI is being used for middle east peacebuilding
How AI is being used for middle east peacebuilding
In this talk we'll share how a technique initially developed with OpenAI for creating AI policy has gone on to be used for finding common ground among Israeli & Palestinian peacebuilders. We'll cover the socio-technical aspects of evolving an AI-accelerated "collective dialogues" approach developed for AI governance into a recursive deliberative process with the superlative legitimacy demanded by this low trust, high stakes environment. From social choice and LLMs to deliberation and diplomacy, this interdisciplinary tech talk will provide a unique view into ongoing peacebuilding efforts in the middle east.
The session will explore practical applications of collective intelligence tools, demonstrating how AI can help bridge divides and facilitate meaningful dialogue in complex political environments. We'll examine specific case studies and discuss both the opportunities and challenges of deploying these technologies in sensitive contexts.
