Generations in Dialogue: Shared Wisdom for Urban Liveability and Adaptation in a 3°C+ World
If Australia is on track for 3°C or more of global heating, we need to fundamentally reshape urban life, community resilience, health outcomes, housing, infrastructure, and social cohesion. Urban populations—young people, older residents, multicultural communities, renters—will experience this transition unevenly. Strengthening community resilience therefore requires intergenerational dialogue, shared decision-making, and the integration of diverse worldviews.
This event hosted by global cities network ICLEI encourages professionals from local government, academia, youth networks, community groups, and First Nations knowledge holders, to design ways that cities can prepare socially, physically, culturally, and institutionally for a hotter and more uncertain future.
