Building the Capability to Collaborate with Startups
Many corporates and CVCs work with startups through pilots, investments, accelerators and strategic partnerships, but the way these collaborations are organized — and the outcomes they generate — can vary significantly.
This roundtable will bring together corporate and CVC practitioners for an open discussion on what actually makes startup collaboration work inside large organizations.
Ignite will open the session by sharing a few insights from our ten years of practical experience, together with findings from ongoing research on how startup-corporate collaborations develop, succeed and sometimes stall.
From there, the focus will be on the participants: comparing experiences, discussing common challenges and sharing what has worked in practice when building stronger ways of working with startups.
We will also briefly introduce an emerging capability framework being developed by Ignite and a team of researchers, as one perspective for structuring the discussion.
Participants will have the opportunity to:
Share experiences of working with startups inside large organizations
Discuss where collaborations most commonly get stuck
Compare different corporate and CVC approaches
Explore which organizational capabilities seem to matter most
Exchange practical lessons with peers
Who should attend?
This roundtable is designed for corporate and CVC practitioners with hands-on experience of working with startups. The session will be held in a closed-door, informal setting with limited capacity to allow for an open and practical discussion.
