Design to Disrupt: Launching Social Impact Startups 101
Design to Disrupt: Launching Social Impact Startups 101 is a hands-on workshop for aspiring changemakers, entrepreneurs, and community leaders who want to transform overlooked problems into sustainable, impactful businesses.
Hosted by Counter—a tech-enabled platform that simplifies the disability leave process—this session explores how design thinking and business strategy intersect to create ventures that don’t just generate revenue, but also drive meaningful change.
The workshop will be led by Camron Brown and Kaelaan Maynor, co-founders of Counter, who bring firsthand experience in building mission-driven technology and business models designed for social impact. Through guided exercises, you’ll learn how to spot opportunities within your community, frame them as solvable challenges, and shape them into business concepts that combine purpose with profit.
By the end of the workshop, participants will walk away with a completed Business Model Canvas—a clear, actionable roadmap to bring their social impact idea to life.
📍 This workshop will take place at The Atelier.
