Mindful Makers Hack #6 - Deep Listening
🧘♀️ Mindful Makers: Mindfulness Hack #6
Join us on Saturday, Feb. 14th (Valentine's Day) for Mindful Makers Hack #6: Deep Listening.
Mindful Makers will be hosting a Deep Listening Hack — an exploration of technology dedicated to sound, music, and listening.
In this mini-hack, we'll dive into building tools that enhance how we engage with audio in everyday life. By creating our own tech for sound and music, we can:
🎧 Build tools to listen, record, and remember sounds and music in daily life
🔊 Shape how we relate with everyday sound
🎼 Explore the relationship between music and wellbeing
We’re excited to be co-hosting with MIT Media Lab’s Manaswi Mishra (Generative AI + Music Tech researcher & computational artist), who’s helping organize and bringing tech + project ideas. See more of Manaswi's work at https://manaswimishra.com/.
We'll spend the day designing and building apps, websites, and tools that promote mindfulness in everyday life. Our belief is simple: technology can deepen presence, connection, and well-being.
To test our creations, we'll use them ourselves in the days that follow — and see if they truly cultivate ease, warmth, spaciousness, generosity, and connection.
💡 Who Should Join
Meditators: Some experience with meditation is encouraged (occasional dabblers are welcome!).
Non-coders welcome: You don't need to be a programmer — we'll keep a balanced ratio of coders to non-coders (~1:1) so everyone can contribute meaningfully (laptop required)
