The Empire State Strikes Back: The New York Leaders Taking on Big Tech
About Event
What can states do to rein in Big Tech? Join the New York Tech Accountability Project (NYTAP) and NYS legislators working on this question in Albany.
We'll discuss what states can do when the federal govt is asleep at the wheel on privacy, addictive algorithms, and AI; what it takes to pass progressive tech legislation in NY; and what legislators hope to accomplish in 2027.
NYTAP is a new organization that advocates for state-level interventions to protect New Yorkers from the harms of extractive tech. We aim to bring together communities and policymakers to prioritize just, equitable, and human-centered legislation in Albany.
