​AI Research Discussion & Networking Series #6

​This time, Builders Cafe is going to be a little different—and interesting. ☕️

​We’ll have mental health researchers and practitioners joining us alongside AI enthusiasts and builders.

​We have always believed that physical and mental health practices should be part of our everyday routine, not something we think about only when there’s a problem. This gathering is one small effort toward building that mindset within our community.

​🧠 First Half — Mental Health & Community

​Himaja is a provisionally licensed psychotherapist and mental health counselor based in New York City, with a decade of experience in the mental health field. She holds a triple master’s degree in counseling psychology, including a dual MA & EdM from Columbia University.

​

​Her experience spans mental health policy with the NYC Mayor’s Office and global mental health advocacy at the United Nations Headquarters in New York City. She is passionate about destigmatizing mental health and advancing accessible, culturally responsive, and equitable care through psychotherapy, policy, advocacy, and research.

​She will lead a discussion on:

• ​Recognizing stress patterns and triggers

• ​Identifying when support is needed

• ​Simple tools for emotional regulation

• ​Building emotional intelligence

• ​How community can become a support system

​We’ll follow this with an AMA and open discussion.

​🤖 Second Half — AI & World Models

​Navneet is a technology professional with 12+ years of experience across data engineering, software engineering, and Generative AI. He has worked on building scalable data platforms, cloud-native solutions, and AI-powered applications, with experience spanning enterprise technology and the wealth management domain.

​He has a deep interest in AI research and its real-world implementation—exploring emerging research, understanding the ideas behind it, and translating them into practical systems and solutions that can create meaningful impact across industries.

​He will be sharing what we’ve been reading and exploring around World Models—from the ideas behind them to different approaches being developed.

​We’ll also go beyond discussion and demonstrate different types of World Models live, exploring how they can simulate possible futures and what these simulations can teach us about AI, prediction, and decision-making.
