📍This month, Biagio Arobba is giving a talk: Demand-Driven Development: The Customer Context Your AI Workflow Is Missing

👏 Special thanks to Improving for hosting Nebraska JS at their offices and for sponsoring the food.

Schedule

  • 6:00PM - Talk Starts

  • ~7:30PM - optional Beer JS for continued discussion at The Hill

Talk Summary

Your AI workflow knows everything about your code. It knows almost nothing about your customers. And code can only tell your AI where you are. It can't tell you where to go next.

Where you go next is a business question. Entrepreneurship has spent decades getting better at answering it, and the key idea is demand-side thinking: seeing your product through your customer's eyes. Now AI has kicked the door open, technologists everywhere are making the leap, and JavaScript developers, the world's biggest developer community, are leading the pack.

This is a go-to-market crash course for developers. No empirical market research, no funnels: just finding your early customers, learning from them, and honing in on your first sales. I've made this leap myself; this is the course I wish I'd had.

Attendees will learn to:

- Spot real demand in your first sales conversations
- See your product through your customer's eyes
- Close early deals and grow a first customer base
- Turn what you learn into context for your AI workflow

Speaker Bio

Biagio has spent 15+ years in and around Omaha's startup world, on both sides of the product: building and maintaining software, and shaping the business around them through pitch decks, financial analysis, business-model and market thinking, and discovery interviews. His work runs beyond tech too, from affordable real-estate development to researching social issues and the solutions they call for. Today, at Synergetic Solutions, he helps startups turn compliance into closing large deals; catch him at his free Compliance Office Hours in Omaha, right after 1 Million Cups. His bookshelf keeps Demand Side Sales 101 right next to Clean Code, which is this talk in a nutshell.
