โAbstract (summary); ENPIRE introduces a framework for autonomous robot policy improvement in the real world. Rather than relying on human researchers to manually reset experiments and iterate on algorithms, the system gives coding agents access to physical robots and allows them to continuously refine policies through a closed loop of experimentation. The framework consists of four components, Environment, Policy Improvement, Rollout, and Evolution, which together enable agents to analyze failures, consult literature, modify training infrastructure, and test new ideas directly on hardware. By parallelizing learning across fleets of robots, ENPIRE demonstrates that real-world robot learning can begin to resemble an automated research process, achieving high success rates on dexterous manipulation tasks while revealing how scaling physical experimentation may become a new axis for embodied AI progress.
โThe Vibe; We find that having community leads to longer lives. We also love AI/science, so lets discuss papers together!
โJoin us at Mox to explore:
โโข What are the biggest bottlenecks preventing robotics research from progressing as quickly as software, and does ENPIRE fundamentally change that equation?
โโข If AI agents can autonomously design experiments, debug failures, and improve robot policies, what aspects of robotics research remain uniquely human?
โEvent Schedule;
โ7pm to 8pm --> quiet reading time, grab and snack and read! (optional)
โ8pm to 9pm --> open discussion about reading ๐
โ9pm --> we have our space for a bit longer, stay to socialize or network!
โOur event is hosted within Mox SF, the gracious donors of the space we will meet.
