Nerdsbay community picnic in Espoo
Let’s meet offline, enjoy the summer weather and spend a relaxed afternoon together by the sea!
Nerdsbay is hosting an international community picnic at Matinkylä beach in Espoo. It will be an informal gathering for internationals in Finland, tech professionals, founders, families and friends of the community.
There is no formal program. We will meet near the public grill, talk, get to know each other, share food, grill something together and enjoy the beginning of summer.

Format:
🔥 Since we are an international community with people from different cultures, religions and dietary backgrounds, we won’t be buying grill food centrally. Nerdsbay will provide drinks, grill supplies, tableware and snacks. Please bring your own food for the grill, or something simple to share with the group if you wish.
Good options are sausages, vegetables, grill cheese, bread, fruit, snacks or anything easy to prepare and share.
🐣 Children are very welcome. Usually they organize themselves quite well around the beach and nearby nature.
Please note that dogs are not allowed in the beach area.
📌 There are toilets, a café/ice cream kiosk, benches, a swimming pier and a beach volleyball area nearby. Seating is limited, so please bring a picnic blanket if you want to sit comfortably.
Since it is by the sea, it can be windy even on a warm day, so bring an extra layer just in case.
Come as you are, bring a good mood and something tasty if you can. We would love to see you there!
