Slow Fire: A Ritual of Scent, Craft & Presence
Join artist Jeremy Joo and SSSOAPS founder Sandro Petrillo for an intimate evening exploring the quiet ritual of making by hand.
Set within Jeremy’s installation of handcrafted tatami platforms, Slow Fire invites participants to slow their pace, engage their senses, and create with intention. Through a guided incense-making workshop, you’ll work with aromatic woods, botanical powders, and essential oils to craft a personal blend that reflects your own intuition and presence in the moment.
Rather than striving for perfection, this workshop embraces process—the subtle decisions, textures, scents, and pauses that emerge when we allow ourselves to work slowly. It is an opportunity to reconnect with the simple act of creating something meaningful with your own hands.
Each participant will leave with a collection of handcrafted incense, a deeper understanding of traditional incense-making, and a renewed appreciation for ritual, craftsmanship, and the transformative potential of slowing down.
No previous experience is necessary. All materials are provided.
