Stanford Tech Club Fireside Chat with Swaroop Jagadish, Co-Founder and CEO of DataHub
As AI agents move from experimentation to production, the question is no longer just ‘what data do we have?’ but ‘can our AI systems actually trust and understand the data they’re using?’
Join us for a fireside chat with Swaroop Jagadish, Co-Founder and CEO of DataHub, the leading open-source metadata platform powering data and AI governance at scale.
Before founding DataHub, Swaroop was Head of Data Platform and Search Infrastructure at Airbnb, where his team built foundational tools including Apache Airflow and Apache Superset, both now industry-standard open-source projects. He also led Airbnb’s Knowledge Graph and Search Infrastructure and oversaw the company’s cloud cost efficiency program. Prior to Airbnb, he worked on distributed databases at LinkedIn and ad-serving systems at Yahoo.
DataHub has raised $65M to date (Series B led by Bessemer Venture Partners) and serves over 3,000 organizations worldwide, including Apple, Netflix, Pinterest, and Slack. The platform provides real-time metadata context so that humans and AI agents can discover, govern, and trust enterprise data.
We’ll cover:
How metadata becomes the foundation for trustworthy AI in the enterprise
The open-source playbook: building a community of 13,000+ members and converting to enterprise revenue
What AI-ready data infrastructure actually looks like and where most companies fall short
Lessons from building at LinkedIn and Airbnb and then founding a company in the same space
