About Event

Join us for a ForestTech Micro Hackathon! This promises to be a productive session exploring how technology is reshaping fire and forestry work.

You’ll get a clear run-through of forest tech fundamentals—from sensors and remote sensing to decision-support tools—and practical guidance on entry points into ForestTech careers.

Expect in-depth discussion about addressing pain points and examples of how technology innovations are helping reimagine forest operations on the ground.

The session wraps with a micro hackathon: sketch a solution, present it, and receive feedback from mentors and peers. You'll walk away with concrete, actionable next steps to move your idea forward.

This hackathon is ideal for technologists, field practitioners, students, researchers, and anyone curious about where tech can make a real difference in fire and forestry work.

About your Coach

Eli Jensen is a Certified Forester through the Society of American Foresters and holds both a B.S. and M.F. in Forestry from Northern Arizona University.

Eli is the owner and operator of Ironwood Forestry, a forestry innovations and solutions company. He has worked as a contractor for land management agencies, using his field services contracts as testing grounds for new ideas ranging from improved tree marking equipment to integrating high resolution LiDAR.

He is passionate about bridging the gap between technology and natural resource management. Eli lives in Chino Valley, AZ.
