Post-Quantum Ethereum Meetup in Rome
Join us for a special Meetup at the Urbe Hub, the Rome Ethereum Community Hub, where we’ll dive into the plans for Post-Quantum Ethereum.
Following our previous session on the Strawmap roadmap, this event will focus entirely on the implications of quantum computing for Ethereum and how the protocol team is preparing for a future where current cryptographic assumptions may no longer hold.
Quantum computers, while still emerging, pose a long-term risk to the cryptographic primitives that secure Ethereum today. The Ethereum Foundation’s research into post-quantum cryptography explores how to future-proof the network using more resilient schemes, such as hash-based signatures and alternative cryptographic constructions.
This session will feature members of the Ethereum Foundation’s Post-Quantum team, offering a rare opportunity to hear directly from researchers working at the frontier of protocol design.
As always, we’ll aim to make complex topics approachable, breaking down key ideas and opening the floor to discussion, whether you’re deeply technical or just curious about where Ethereum is heading.
🔗 Context & Why it matters
Post-quantum security is one of the “north stars” introduced in the Strawmap: ensuring Ethereum remains secure even in a world with large-scale quantum computers
This meetup builds on that vision, zooming in on what “durable cryptography” actually means in practice.

🐺 About urbe.eth
urbe.eth is a community of Web3 builders, based in Rome and active globally. We onboard and empower the next generation of builders through shared knowledge, hands-on learning, and collaboration.
We have a physical hub in Rome, a place to meet, work, learn, and grow. We are also the team behind ETHRome, and you’ll often find us hosting or showing up at events across the ecosystem.
