Join Nightlight Society for Nocturne: A Romantasy Symposium, an intimate day of conversation, craft, creativity, and fandom dedicated to the genre that has reshaped contemporary reading culture.
It's a literary symposium with a salon, offering an opportunity to meet fellow lovers of the genre. Nocturne brings together writers, editors, creators, and readers to explore Romantasy from every angle: why the genre has exploded now, how its worlds and relationships are built, what its stories reveal about desire and power, and how fandom transforms books into cultural worlds of their own.
Across the day, we'll move between thoughtful conversation and hands-on creation. Editor and author Jeanne De Vita will unpack the cultural and publishing moment behind romantasy before leading an interactive writing workshop. We'll explore the material life of books through a bookish craft session, then gather over afternoon tea for facilitated conversation and a little time to simply meet the people at your table.
Later, Kelsey Woods will join us for a conversation on fandom as architecture: how communities, rituals, aesthetics, and shared language turn stories into places readers can inhabit together. We'll also explore questions of feminism, adaptation, and what changes when romantasy moves from the page into other forms of storytelling.
And because this is Nightlight Society, the day won't end with a panel. We'll close together with reflection, sharing a few favorite lines aloud, a raffle, and one final celebration of the fictional worlds that brought us into the room!

Our brilliant photographer Kailee Welp will be capturing the event. By attending, you're agreeing that we may photograph or record the event and use it across channels. Would rather not appear? Tell us at check-in, and we'll keep you out of frame.
