Where New Industries Come From
Join The Students to hear a lecture from Ben Landau-Taylor and meet fellow fans of the channel.
Sober, risk-averse, rational businessmen make great captains of industry—in established industries which someone else already built. But the new industries which drive progress come from wild half-mad ideologues. This lecture will cover the psychology of the men behind the major breakthroughs, from the steam engine to the large language model.
Dress code: Formal. Jackets required for men. Equivalent for women.
Arrive at 6pm. Lecture begins at 7pm. Drinks and snacks provided.
