Gloucestershire Anthropic / Claude meet-up
Kicking off Gloucestershire's inaugral Anthropic / Claude meet-up
Come hang out with fellow builders in and around GL for an honest, no sales pitch, no fluff conversation about what it actually looks like to put Claude to work in the real world.
Pizza and beer kindly sponsored by Greg @ GTSearch (https://gtsearch.co.uk/) and Dan @ P2 Growth (https://p2growth.com/)
Kicking off our first meet-up, Simon Metson, SVP Engineering at EDB (https://www.linkedin.com/in/simon-metson-b093061/), will share his experiences rolling out Claude Code to ~200 engineers. What worked and what didn't, but perhaps more interestingly, considerations for engineering leaders and engineers on what the future of work looks like, augmented by tools like Claude Code. Not slide heavy, but more of an open discussion with Q&A on his experiences and lessons learnt / being learnt.
We're also looking for a second speaker! If you've been using Claude as a solo builder, a small team, or someone who doesn't come from a traditional engineering background, we'd love to hear your story too. Especially if you've use CoWork to automate workflows. Drop us a message if you'd be up for sharing your experience. No polish required.
And a pizza / drinks sponsor... If you'd like to pick-up th etab for Pizza and drinks, do please drop Robin a line.
Expect a relaxed format: an overview of the theme, then open conversation. Whether you're leading a platform team or you just started building things last month, you'll get something out of this.
(Rough) timings:
- 1700 - 1720 - Arrive and informal chats / networking
- 1720 - 1800 - Simon - Claude Code @ EDB
- 1800 - 1840 - TBD - Single talk or some lightening talks
- 1840 - 1900 - Wrap-up
- 1900 onwards - can head to a local pub for those keen to continue the discussion
Who this is for:
Engineers, management teams, new builders, indie hackers, curious tinkerers, and anyone who's using (or wants to use) AI tools to make things. No experience threshold required.
In the event we're over capacity (limiting the initial event to 50 folks), we'll prioritise those already in the world of work and will have to look at an event for students in parallel / at a later date.
