About Event

This free, interactive workshop from the Deep Truth Project brings Londoners together to explore the real-world harms of deepfakes and AI-generated media, from political disinformation and financial scams to non-consensual intimate image abuse.

Together we'll look at what deepfakes are, how to detect them, and how they're used to cause harm, with real examples drawn from the UK. You'll leave with a practical toolkit for thinking critically about what you see online, red flags to watch for, and the steps to take if you or someone you know is targeted.

The session runs approximately 60 to 75 minutes and is designed for mixed adult audiences with no technical background. No devices, prior knowledge, or technical confidence required.

This event is hosted by the Data for London team at City Hall.
