Operator's Act III: Live Screening
On November 21 at 10:00 am, NODE will join a cohort of museums and institutions around the world for a live broadcast of Act III, the third and final act of Human Unreadable (2023-2026) by Operator, performed at the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York. We invite you to experience the work together, in a shared space, in real time.
Since its conception in 2022, ACT III has found new ways to ask how much of a body survives its translation into code, and its conceptual arc has always been the slow recovery of the human.
Merging choreography and code, ACT III relies on a library of dance movements and a generative choreography method stored on the Ethereum blockchain. Act III is an 80-minute multimedia performance using dance sequences #2–101 from the Human Unreadable collection as the raw choreographic material, woven together through scripted dialogue, lighting and scenic design, performance art, and set to an original score.
The broadcast is conceived as an artwork in its own right, with footage edited and altered in real time as the performance unfolds.
Doors open at 9:30. Please arrive early. Seating will be limited.
