Nature Positive Futures: Connecting Research, Policy and Business
This event has been rescheduled to a new date of Thursday 11 June 2026.
The recent IPBES Business and Biodiversity Assessment underscores the dependence of all business on nature, and the “critical and pervasive systemic risk” that unsustainable business practices pose to the economy and human wellbeing. The assessment also emphasised the need for a whole-of-society-approach to collaboration to create an enabling environment where businesses are incentivised to protect and restore biodiversity.
Building on these insights, this event will bring together experts from across business, finance, NGOs, policy and research to discuss the key findings from the IPBES Assessment and unpack opportunities for cross-sectoral collaborations to help both business and nature thrive.
The agenda is as follows:
1pm: Networking lunch (vegetarian/vegan) with showcase of nature-positive innovations
2pm: Welcome and keynote speeches: Matt Jones (UNEP-WCMC & IPBES Business and Biodiversity Assessment) and Dr Gemma Harper (Joint Nature Conservation Committee). Chaired by Dr Caroline Howe (Imperial)
3:15pm: World cafe: collaborative session with rotating conversations
4:15pm: Panel discussion: Louise Daniels (Thrive Renewables), Dr Pernille Holtedahl (Imperial), Vassilis Gkoumas (WWF). Chaired by Rachel Solomon-Williams (Aldersgate Group)
5pm: Networking drinks
Please note this event is invite-only. You can register your interest to attend and, if there is availability, you may be invited to attend. Please note registering interest to attend does not guarantee your attendance.
