Building Material Selection Guide Training
Building Material Selection Guide Training
Every material choice is an opportunity to support healthier spaces and reduce the carbon footprint of our buildings. How can builders, designers, and other building professionals put those goals into practice?
Join us for an in-person training on the newly released Material Selection Guide, which helps builders and designers identify best-in-class products ranked for health and embodied carbon. Learn how to bring these considerations into your projects and build your confidence in specifying healthier, lower-carbon materials.
The training will introduce the guide and demonstrate the interactive tools behind it, including Habitable’s Informed tool and Builders for Climate Action’s BEAM tool. An extended BEAM training will explore its use in evaluating embodied carbon, including application to RESNET 1550 standards.
Connect with others working through material-selection decisions, exchange perspectives, and explore how everyday project choices can contribute to healthier communities and a lower-carbon built environment.
Who should attend?
Developers, contractors, designers, energy service professionals, property owners, and local government staff interested in learning more about specifying healthy, low-embodied-carbon building materials are welcome.
