About Event

UPDATE: Due to last weekend's heavy rainfall, the Smorgs team is pushing day two of their AAPI Festival of Tea to Sunday, August 9th at Prospect Park. More details on vendors and programming to be shared.

This May, Brown Girl Mag joins forces with Smorgasburg to bring the AAPI Festival of Tea 🍵 to life — a cross-cultural celebration rooted in ritual, storytelling, and community.

Smorgasburg, the largest weekly open-air food market in America, attracts tens of thousands of visitors each weekend across Brooklyn, Manhattan, Los Angeles, and Miami — showcasing hundreds of local vendors and global flavors in one place.

Join us for a weekend celebrating AAPI Heritage Month through tea, culture, community, and flavor. 💚 From ceremonial matcha and handcrafted chai to tea-infused specials and interactive experiences, this year’s festival brings together an incredible lineup of guest vendors, resident specials, and cultural programming across two Smorg locations.

📍Saturday, May 23rd — Williamsburg | 11AM–6PM
📍Sunday, May 24th — Prospect Park | 11AM–6PM
