Stakeholder Discussion on PSA's National Technology Readiness Assessment Framework (NTRAF)
On 29 December 2025, the Principal Scientific Advisor (PSA) to the Government of India, unveiled the National Technology Readiness Assessment Framework (NTRAF), a draft guidance document developed in collaboration with the Confederation of Indian Industry.
The NTRAF is positioned as a strategic instrument to assess technology maturity and associated risks across the development and deployment lifecycle of technology projects. It also aims to facilitate the transition of technologies in the research stage into deployable and commercially viable products.
Ikigai Law, will convene a stakeholder discussion on the draft NTRAF (Discussion), bringing together deep-tech founders, ecosystem stakeholders and domain experts invitees to synthesize their inputs into implementable recommendations for the PSA.
By convening this Discussion, we aim to bridge the gap between the policy and the practical realities of India’s startup ecosystem. Given NTRAF’s potential role in shaping how technical maturity is evaluated for public funding and deployment pathways, the Discussion aims to generate targeted, actionable feedback for PSA on the draft and its operationalization.
