Tech for Good: Accessibility & Mobilty
Tech for Good: Accessibility and Mobility
Part of EXPlore Pittsburgh Tech Week - EXPlore Upskill Days at Nova Place
Pittsburgh has spent decades quietly building some of the most important mobility and assistive technology in the world. This panel brings those builders into the same room - and invites the community into the conversation.
What does it actually take to design technology that gives people back their independence? And what is still standing in the way of getting that technology to the people who need it most?
On September 15th, four panelists working at the intersection of hardware, community organizing, assistive tech, and disability policy will share what they are building, what they are seeing, and what still needs to change. Each panelist brings a brief live demo or real-world example - this is not a theoretical conversation.
Panelists:
Candice Caputo, COO - Humotech
Alexander Geht, Founder - 412 Ability Tech
Leah Marmo - Inglis Innovation Center
Michelle Walker, Commissioner - Governor's Advisory Commission on People with Disabilities
After the panel, attendees break into small facilitated sessions led by the panelists themselves. Your voice is part of what happens in that room. Come ready to engage.
Doors open at 12:00 PM. Panel begins at 12:30 PM.
