Demo #1 Viola (Wei Ma) - M.W Wool Art Studio
M.W Wool Art Studio is an IP-driven designer toy brand inspired by Dutch culture, contemporary art, and emerging lifestyle trends. Rather than creating traditional toys, they develop collectable characters and stories that resonate with modern consumers seeking individuality and cultural connection.
Their signature pieces are crafted from natural wool felt, offering a sustainable and plastic-free alternative to conventional vinyl collectables. By blending original intellectual property, Dutch cultural narratives, and artisanal craftsmanship, Viola creates limited-edition designer toys that are both environmentally conscious and culturally meaningful.
The vision of M.W Wool Art Studio is to redefine collectable art toys for a new generation, where sustainability, creativity, and cultural storytelling coexist in a single iconic character.
Demo #2 Anirudh Bhateja, founder of Khao Foods
Khao Foods is a circular food startup based in the Netherlands that transforms surplus and rejected Dutch vegetables into flavourful sauces along meal solutions designed to reduce food waste and make sustainable eating more practical and enjoyable.
Anirudh started his career in engineering in the US, but over time felt drawn toward food, culture, and the bigger systems behind how we eat. His passion to reduce food waste created Khao Foods as a business that combines sustainability, flavour, and storytelling in a way that feels both culturally relevant and modern.
Through Khao Foods, Anirudh is building products that give overlooked produce a second life, while also developing a subscription model and community-led food experiences that help people cook better, waste less, and connect more deeply with the food they eat.
Demo #3 Sahar Niroomandbeihaghi of BuurUnion
Sahar has always been drawn to people. Being part of a group, listening, helping, or simply sharing a moment has always made her feel most alive. For her, trust in people and care for nature were never separate values. They came from the same belief: life becomes richer when it is shared.
She studied management in Iran and later worked in a multicultural environment, where she first encountered the idea of sustainability. It was not just a concept to her. It felt like a language she already understood. This curiosity eventually brought her to the Netherlands to continue her studies in a country where sustainability is part of everyday life.
But it was her experience as a newcomer that truly shaped her direction. Living in a modern residential building, surrounded by many people yet disconnected from them, revealed a gap she could not ignore. The warm and supportive sense of community she believed in was missing. Instead of accepting that reality, she decided to build something that could help change it.
The name BuurUnion comes from this journey.
Sahar has always loved the mathematical symbol ∪, the sign for union: parts forming a whole, individuals becoming a community. That symbol became the seed of the name.
“Buur” means neighbour in Dutch.
“Union” reflects the idea of people coming together, inspired by the symbol that has always represented unity and shared strength for her. A local concept with a global purpose.
BuurUnion helps reconnect the social fabric inside residential buildings. Through shared moments, shared skills, shared items, shared food, and everyday interactions, it turns a building into a small, supportive ecosystem.
By making it easier for residents to connect, help one another, and use resources more wisely, BuurUnion creates value on multiple levels: less waste, more trust, and stronger community. Turning neighbours into changemakers.
