About Event

🤖 You built the agent. Now put it into the unknown.

Can your agent explore a system it has never seen before?

The NVIDIA Developer Live Agent Gauntlet is a virtual agent competition where developers build and submit agents capable of dynamic exploration using the Model Context Protocol (MCP)—then watch them battle it out LIVE on the NVIDIA Developer livestream on Thursday, November 5 at 11:00 AM PT.

At kickoff, your agent will be dropped into a Black Box MCP server filled with hidden tools, unknown functions, encrypted data, and challenges spanning Text and Image.

You won't know what's inside and neither will your agent. Its job is to figure it out.

The winning team will be invited to join us live day of, on stream for a conversation with our hosts about their agent, their approach, and how they tackled the gauntlet.

📥 All submissions due by Monday, November 2 at 11:00 AM PT.

🧭 The Mission

Build an agent that can enter an unfamiliar MCP environment and autonomously:

  • Explore the server dynamically

  • Discover the tools available to it

  • Determine how and when to use them

  • Uncover hidden functions and encrypted data

  • Navigate challenges nested throughout the environment

  • Solve problems across Text and Image

There is no human intervention once your agent enters the gauntlet.

Your agent will have to explore, reason, adapt, and act on its own.

🔥 How It Works

🛠️ 1. Build Your Agent

Approved participants will receive a starter kit that you'll adapt to build your agent, along with access to a practice arena/server where you can validate your agent before submission.

Your agent will use MCP servers to access challenges and LLMs. The supported runtime is Python 3.12. and teams may use supported Python frameworks.

This event is limited to a maximum of 20 agent submissions. Once we reach capacity, additional applicants will be placed on a waitlist and notified if a spot becomes available.

Application Guidelines:

  • Participate individually or in a team of up to two people.

  • This is a fully virtual competition. No in-person attendance is required.

  • All agents must be submitted ahead of the livestream.

📥 2. Submit Before the Gauntlet

Before submitting, use the provided practice arena/server to validate that your agent is ready to enter the gauntlet.

Your agent must be fully built and submitted online by Monday, November 2nd at 9:00 AM PT.

Submissions include:

  • Public GitHub repository URL

  • Submission checksum

  • Full source code

  • Submission to the assigned private GitHub repository (shared out once accepted)

🎯 3. Enter the Black Box

On Thursday, November 5th at 11:00 AM PT, tune into the NVIDIA Developer livestream as we put submitted agents to the ultimate test.

You will receive no advance information about the Black Box environment, its tools, its architecture, or the challenges inside.

Your agent enters as-is. Then the gauntlet begins.

🎟️ Register now for more details on how to get started!

Build it. Submit it. Then watch it compete.
