Edinburgh x ARIA: Engineering Ecosystem Resilience
The Advanced Research + Invention Agency (ARIA) is a UK R&D funding agency that empowers scientists and engineers to pursue breakthroughs at the edge of the possible.
Within our opportunity spaces, we back high-potential research that’s under-explored, but if it works, could deliver major societal and economic impact. From individuals to startups, industry to academia – we support the people and ideas with the ambition to shape the future.
Join us for an ARIA workshop on Engineering Ecosystem Resilience. We are in the process of developing a potential <£50m research programme in this space, and are keen to hear from individuals from across the UK EER community. We are seeking questions, feedback, and fresh perspectives to help shape the conceptual framework and future direction for this vital work, ensuring maximum impact.
Format:
ARIA Overview: A brief introduction to the Advanced Research and Invention Agency (ARIA), including its mandate, activities, and funding scope.
Opportunity Space Overview: An overview of his current work and initial ideas on how to accelerate the adaptation of wild populations to rapidly changing environments.
Q&A: Yannick will discuss the concept and discuss ideas with the wider community.
Who’s it for?
We are seeking questions, feedback, and fresh perspectives to help shape the conceptual framework and future direction for this vital work, ensuring maximum impact. We'd like to invite anyone engaged in Ecosystem Resilience, across the Opportunity Space and career stages, from PhD students and post-docs to group leaders, founders and research managers.
