Cougar Church is a rooftop gathering for femmes who are ready to get out of their heads and back into their bodies. Age-inclusive, judgment-free, and unapologetically alive.
This is movement as medicine. This is the dance party your spirit has been craving. This is the sun soaked sister to our Wednesday night dance party
HERE'S HOW IT WORKS
We open with ceremony.
Our first Cougar Church begins with a Qi Gong facilitation led by Aliena Mobley — a grounding, embodied practice that wakes up the body and settles the nervous system before we let the music take over. Think of it as permission to arrive fully before you let go completely.
Then around noon, the DJ takes the floor.
Ecstatic-style dance means the music does the work — no choreography, no mirrors, no performance. Just sound, bare feet, and the chance to sweat your prayers out in the open air.
This isn't a new idea. Humans have moved their prayers since Miriam danced on the shore, since the Dionysian revelers spilled into the streets, since the first circle formed under an open sky. There is a long lineage of women and communities who have gathered to move together — sometimes in secret, sometimes in defiance, always in devotion. Coming home to your body in community has always been a radical act. It still is.
There's also room to land. Cozy corners designed for the conversations, connections, and quiet magic that happen when you stay a little longer.
FOOD + BEVERAGE
A complimentary coffee station is open from the start. Starting at noon, food and beverages are available for purchase, including non-alcoholic options. This isn't a day party. It's a Sunday service.
