Qi Gong Activation at the Yoshiyuki Kakedo Exhibition
As part of the public programme accompanying the first posthumous solo exhibition of Japanese artist Yoshiyuki Kakedo, MAHAMAYAMA Curation Office invites visitors to come together for a unique synthesis between art contemplation and body activation through a Qigong session connected for the exhibition space with ling gui Berlin led by Sonja Schillo.
In Qigong, the focus is on experiencing and observing your own body intimately. The soothing and refreshing movements engage the senses in many ways and help to clear, open and calm the mind. Through slow, dynamic, gentle and invigorating exercises, participants will be taken you on a journey to discover the simplicity and beauty of the present moment. As you connect with yourself, a space for dialogue and connection emerges. You will have the opportunity to rediscover and perceive yourself and your surroundings, and interact with them.
The Qi Gong Activation session invites participants to experience Yoshiyuki Kakedo’s works from a different perspective, extending the contemplative qualities of the exhibition into a shared physical practice.
