​A Stand-Up Comedy Writing Workshop for Black Women :)

​Ever been told you’re funny? Or maybe you know you are — but you’ve never taken the mic.

​Laugh & Learn is a stand-up comedy writing workshop created exclusively for Black women who want to try comedy for the first time or sharpen their existing skills in a supportive, affirming space. Whether you’re comedy-curious or ready to level up your punchlines, this experience is designed to help you find your voice and trust it.

​Pricing: $30 towards host , $5 towards the price of a drink. $30 Total.

​In this hands-on workshop, participants will:

• ​Learn the fundamentals of stand-up comedy writing

• ​Develop original material with guided exercises

• ​Receive feedback and mentorship from professional Black women comedians

• ​Build confidence in a safe, supportive environment

• ​Have the opportunity to perform their material for the first time (no pressure, all love)

​You’ll be working closely with:

​Chika – A Brooklyn-based stand-up comedian, producer, and host of Do It Live w/ Chika, a bimonthly live talk show known for its bold humor and vibrant energy.

​Lauren Davis – A St. Louis–born, Brooklyn-based comedian and writer; a 2024 SeriesFest TV Writing Fellow and 2025 Because They’re Funny Festival semi-finalist. She has performed across the U.S. and internationally and brings sharp storytelling, warmth, and a deep love of craft (and Japan).

​This is more than a workshop — it’s a creative lab, a confidence builder, and a space to laugh loudly and learn boldly. Come write. Come perform. Come discover what happens when your voice takes center stage.
