Whimble Joy Club: Winter Edition
Joy Club is an accessibility-first open mic night built to bring our community together in Toronto - in a way that's joyful, inclusive, and centered on true belonging. It’s a night where everyone is welcome to take the stage (or cheer loudly from their seat), whether you’re a polished performer or someone who just wants to try something new (or anywhere in between).
We’re creating a space where disabled and non-disabled people can come together, laugh, listen, perform, dance, and celebrate each other. No pressure. No perfection. Just joy.
✨ Why We’re Doing This
Joy Club is part of a bigger idea: building a community-led model of care, creativity, and connection.
We’re hosting this event to:
Bring disabled and non-disabled communities together in a joyful, low-pressure environment
Support people before, during, and after events through on-site care plus optional aftercare-included tickets
Create something fun, bold, and buzz-worthy that shows what access-centered events can look like
This is more than an open mic, it’s the start of something meaningful.
✨ Who’s Invited
Everyone.
Joy Club is for disabled folks, non-disabled folks, performers, introverts, first-timers, veterans, music lovers, poetry readers, comedians, storytellers, and anyone else who wants to be part of a fun, inclusive night out.
We are accessibility-first, but not accessibility-only. If you value community, joy, and expression, then this space is for you.
✨ Co-Hosted By
Reuniting for one night only - we're thrilled to have OG you-tubers "T-Rose & The Gurz" carrying us on this journey.
✨ How to Participate in the Open Mic
Interested in performing? Amazing, we can't wait.
When you register, you’ll be asked:
If you’d like to perform
What you're offering (music, poetry, comedy, storytelling, etc.) + for how long
What you may need to make it happen
A few notes:
We have limited performance spots
We’ll do our best to include as many people as possible
Performance slots are not guaranteed - we’ll confirm ahead of time
Equipment provided is a basic open mic setup (mic, speakers). Please ensure your performance does not require additional equipment unless you’re bringing it yourself (e.g., props, costume pieces, projector for powerpoint slides).
✨ Community Guidelines
Joy Club is built on safety, inclusion, and care.
To help us maintain that, here’s what we ask of all guests:
In this space:
No violent, oppressive, discriminatory, or harmful language or behaviour
Respect people’s identities, boundaries, and bodies
Bring your humour, authenticity, and joy
Make room for others - physically, socially, and energetically

Personal care attendants on site throughout the event
Optional aftercare tickets for support getting home + bedtime routines
