#WeeExplore: casual poet library and Alexandra Village tour
What would you do on a slow Saturday morning?
We're excited to launch #WeeExplore, a brand new WKWSCI Alumni Association series of relaxed outings where we discover interesting places, try new experiences and spend time together beyond our usual events.
For our very first #WeeExplore, we're heading to casual poet library and Alexandra Village.
casual poet library is Singapore's first community-funded shared library, with around 180 shelves individually curated by book lovers, community builders and several fellow WKWSCI alumni. We'll start the morning with bookshelf owner and library volunteer Raymond Yeo, who will take us behind the scenes of this unique community project, introduce us to some of the stories behind its shelves, and show us why this little library has captured the imagination of so many.
Then we'll step outside for a leisurely stroll around Alexandra Village, stopping by neighbourhood gems, taking in familiar and unexpected sights, snapping a few photos if the mood strikes, and ending near Alexandra Village Food Centre before returning to casual poet library, where anyone who's keen can continue the conversations over an early lunch or simply linger a little longer and soak in the atmosphere.
Whether you're a book lover, a curious explorer, or simply looking to enjoy a relaxed Saturday morning with fellow alumni, we'd love to have you join us.
