We are a book club dedicated to women aged 30 and up who are descendants of the African Diaspora (Afro/Black American and Afro-Latina) and Indigenous women, alongside our women of color allies. Our mission is to center and uplift stories authored by people of color, with a primary focus on Afro-American, Afro-Latina, Caribbean and Indigenous voices.
February Book Club: Discussion & Blind Date Swap
Get ready for a thought-provoking, "comfy-cozy," and fun-filled afternoon as we dive into our February reads. We have two captivating options to choose from: one Contemporary Romance and one Psychological Thriller.
February Book Selection:
7 Days in June by Tia Williams (Contemporary Romance)
The Wife Before by Shanora Williams (Psychological Thriller)
The After-Party: Blind Date with a Book Swap!
After our deep dive, we’re lightening the mood with a bookish exchange. We’re exploring the diverse sub-genres of romance—think Dark Romance, Sci-Fi Romance, Romantasy, and Paranormal Romance.
The Rules:
The Author: To celebrate the theme of our main reads, the book you choose must be written by an author of color.
The Selection: Purchase a book in a romance sub-genre that you wouldn’t normally read.
The Disguise: Wrap it "Blind Date" style (in brown paper or gift wrap) so the title remains a mystery.
The Profile: On the outside, include a small "dating profile" featuring the genre, vibe, clues, themes, or a two-sentence synopsis.
Come ready to swap and find your next favorite read!
Event Details
Location: A cafe in the East Falls section of Philadelphia (Exact address provided upon registration).
Time: 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM
Requirement: A purchase is required at the cafe; please expect to spend approximately $13.
What to Expect
A bookish goodie bag.
Thought-provoking and fun discussion.

Attendance & Cancellation Policy
To ensure we can continue providing a quality experience for our sisterhood, please note our updated policies:
Cancellations: We require at least 24-hour notice for cancellations. After two consecutive cancellations, or any cancellation made without 24-hour notice, you will be charged double the standard fee for your next attendance.
Refunds: All payments are final and non-refundable. Swapping or reselling tickets is prohibited.
