Webinar: Ready or Not? How to actually embed legal AI
For our report, Ready or Not, we interviewed 25 UK in-house lawyers and surveyed a further 85. Almost all of them use AI. Most are working just as hard as before, and only 24% can find every signed contract in one place. The tools were rarely the problem. The problem was everything around them: scattered contracts, no clear process, and half the team lacking the capacity to adopt or use the tool.
This session covers the whole journey: getting your contracts and processes in order before you buy, choosing the right vendor, and getting the team to use it afterwards.
Christopher Allen, Assistant General Counsel at Safelite (a subsidiary of Belron), began by organising his contracts with Nomio. After that, he surveyed his global legal team to identify their desired use cases and evaluated 10 legal AI vendors based on those needs. He will share his insights on how he conducted this process and what he learned while implementing Wordsmith, the tool he eventually selected, for approximately 65 users across the global legal team.
Nathan Corr, Legal Engineer at Wordsmith, will explain where the vendor’s job starts and ends, what to look out for when assessing vendors, and how some lawyers who’ve never touched AI become power users within months.
Rob Jarrett, fractional counsel and founder of Size Seven, co-authored the report and has worked with leading in-house legal teams, from TikTok to ITV. He’ll cover why appetite for AI varies so much from one team to the next, how to choose when dozens of tools claim to do the same thing, and what to do if you’ve been burnt before.
You’ll leave knowing how to shortlist vendors, ensure a successful implementation every time, and turn even the most sceptical lawyers into AI-advocates.
